International Women’s Day panel

International Women’s Day celbrated its centenary on 8 March 2011. In honor of this anniversary, and following the success of the first TEDWomen event in December 2010, TEDxBeijing held a panel discussion on women and the development of China on 12th March 2011.

Elsa Tse, Lei Wang, Casey Wilson and Yuan Zou joined Jin Yan in a conversation on how the development of China has impacted the lives of women, and how women in China are increasingly leading the development of their country.

The panel was followed by a lively Q&A and mingling with the 60 attendants.

TEDWomen December 2010
Live from Beijing

The first ever TEDWomen was held in Washington, DC on December 7th and 8th. This global event featured prominent speakers from around the world exploring the question: how are women and girls reshaping the world?

Yang Lan, Chinese businesswoman and talk show host, addressed TEDWomen live from the Beijing studio of her show “Her Village” on December 8th, to discuss the role women play in the development of China.
